Tempest House, Alderley Edge - Demolition and replacement dwelling with new access

Engineers sectionsEngineered Solutions

Working with the preliminary layout, Cheshire Woodlands liaised with our associate Engineers at Northern Structural Services and agreed a design for the new stone boundary wall with gate pillars, electrically operated gates and concrete bridging ramp which could be constructed using a combination of piers, beams and raft foundations along with traditional foundations built off the foundations of an existing garden structure.

The Engineer's drawing (opposite) located the stone boundary wall on specially profiled concrete beam to accept the natural stone facing.  The beam being  entirely above ground level and supported on mini-piles to prevent damage to tree roots. The gate pillars and first five metres of driveway being constructed on a concrete bridge.
