Cheshire Woodlands principal consultant Mike Ellison has developed the QTRA system over a period of eight years during which time several colleagues have provided invaluable feedback and comment when reviewing or applying the system.

To maintain a consistently applied methodology and optimise the value of the system, feedback from users will inform adaptation and modification of the system and dissemination of information and updates to users.

It is intended that several areas of tree safety will be researched to provide refined data to users. In particular, research will be carried out into the effects of weather conditions on both tree failure and patterns of pedestrian, equestrian and cyclist access.
